BLISSFUL IN BOHOL

The 10th largest island in the Philippines, Bohol is a destination that offers a lot of options for cultural immersion, as well as adventure for tourists and locals alike. Getting there is quite easy, being one of the most visited island provinces in the Philippines, regular flights are available from Manila and Cebu. From Cebu we arrived at Tubigon port after 2 hours via RORO. And we began our adventure. We took a 15 minute bus ride from Tubigon to Calape where the replica of San Sebastian Church is located. Then 45 minutes away is the town of Loon where another church is built from corals and lime stones. Off we went again passing by the town of Maribojoc then to The Capital City of Bohol, Tagbilaran. TOURIST ATTRACTIONS

The Chocolate Hills is the most famous tourist attraction in Bohol, scientifically believed to be weathered formations of limestone rocks, and coral reef deposits. The Chocolate Hills Complex is where the view deck is and requires 213 steps up to get to the top. On the ground you can rent a motorcycle for 250 pesos to take a closer look at the foot of the hills. Other attraction is a cruise at the Loboc River it costs 300 pesos per person to experience a house boat ride with floating restaurant which offering a buffet. When on this cruise you will be able tosee the Tontonan Falls while you can only reach the Busay falls using small boats which are also available in the area. Then there is Panglao Island. With its fine white sand, Panglao Beach is among the best in Bohol. You can stay in Amorita Beach Resort for 6,000 - 12,000 pesos per night.

GETTING AROUND

There are several RORO ports in Bohol 1. Tagbilaran, 2. Tubigon, 3. Talibon 4. Jagna. From Tubigon tricycle and jeepneys will take you to Tagbilaran City. The most common mode of transportation are tricycle, multicab and taxi. If you plan on visiting other town there are buses and vans for hire.
